SoccerVista predictions, coverage and the odds on the page

SoccerVista has been running since the early 2000s and lists matches from more than a hundred countries. Its breadth is genuinely useful and it is also the thing most likely to cost you money.

Updated · The Natybet Desk

SoccerVista is a free football prediction site that has run since the early 2000s, listing fixtures by competition with a prediction and decimal odds beside each match, across more than a hundred countries. No account is needed. The format is plain and fast, which on a cheap phone and a metered connection is a real advantage over most rivals.

Treat the breadth as a warning rather than a feature. A prediction for a match in a league with twenty years of clean history and a prediction for a second division with almost none are displayed identically, and they are not worth the same. Two decades of operation is also not evidence of accuracy, because no settled record with prices attached exists for any of it.

Natybet is not affiliated with SoccerVista. This is an independent explainer written by us. We do not run SoccerVista, we are not paid by them, we cannot publish or change anything on their site, and we have no access to their model or their data. Everything below is our own reading of what they publish.

Why breadth is a liability, not a feature

Every site in this category advertises its coverage. More leagues sounds strictly better, and for a results service it is. For a prediction service it is closer to the opposite.

A statistical forecast is an estimate built from history. In a major European league you have decades of consistent, well-recorded results, stable squads, reliable team news and enough matches per season to measure anything. In a second division on a continent the data providers cover thinly, you have a fraction of that, often with gaps, and squads that turn over so heavily that last season barely describes this one.

The model still produces a number. It has to, because a blank cell looks broken. So the same interface shows you a well-founded estimate and a barely-founded one in identical type, with no visual difference between them at all. The reader cannot see which is which, and the confident formatting invites treating them the same.

This matters enormously in Kenya specifically, because jackpot slates are assembled from whatever happens to be playing. In August that means Scandinavian leagues and second divisions; through the year it means a steady diet of competitions with thin data. The predictions you most need to be reliable are structurally the least reliable ones on the site.

Twenty years is not a track record

Longevity gets cited as proof, and it is worth separating what it does and does not establish.

What it establishes: the site found a durable business model, and it has not collapsed under its own promises the way paid tipster operations routinely do. For a free, advertising-supported site that is a modest but real signal about the operator.

What it does not establish: anything at all about forecasting. A site can publish mediocre predictions indefinitely, because free readers do not audit and advertising revenue does not depend on being right. There is no published settled record across those twenty years, with each forecast graded against the result and the price recorded, so the accuracy question remains untested rather than answered. That is the same position Forebet and PredictZ are in.

The most useful thing on the page is the odds column

SoccerVista displays decimal odds beside its fixtures, and that column is worth more than the prediction beside it once you know what to do with it.

Decimal odds are the total return per unit staked, stake included. A price of 2.50 returns 2.50 for each 1.00 risked, so 1.50 of profit. Divide 1 by the odds and you get the implied probability:

That conversion is the whole skill. It turns a price into a statement about the world, which you can then agree or disagree with. A prediction is only interesting when it disagrees with the price by enough to matter: if the site tips a home win and the home price implies 68%, being told the home team is likely to win has added nothing you did not already have.

Add the three prices up, and find the charge

Here is the exercise that changes how the whole page reads. Take any 1X2 market on the site, convert all three prices to implied probabilities, and add them together.

You will not get 100%. You will get something in the region of 105%, and sometimes considerably more in smaller leagues. Those extra points are the bookmaker's margin, built into every price you see. It is not a fee charged separately, it is the reason the numbers do not sum to certainty.

Two consequences follow, and they are the reason this arithmetic is worth doing once properly. Being right marginally more often than chance does not produce a profit, because the margin has to be cleared first. And the margin is generally fattest in exactly the small leagues where a model's predictions are weakest, so the fixtures with the least reliable forecasts also carry the highest charge. The full working is on odds explained.

How to actually use the site

Frequently asked questions

What is SoccerVista?

One of the longest-running free football prediction sites, going back to the early 2000s. It lists fixtures by competition with kick-off times, a prediction beside each match and decimal odds displayed alongside, and it covers well over a hundred countries. It is free and requires no account.

Does covering 100+ countries make it better?

It makes it broader, which is not the same thing. A statistical prediction is only as good as the history behind it, and the history behind a top-flight European league is vastly deeper and cleaner than the history behind a second division on another continent. Coverage tells you how many matches a site will give you an opinion on, not how much those opinions are worth.

Has it been accurate for twenty years?

Longevity is not accuracy, and the two get conflated constantly. A site surviving two decades tells you it found a sustainable way to operate, which for a free site usually means advertising. It says nothing about its forecasting, because no settled record with prices attached is published for any of those twenty years.

What do the decimal odds on the page mean?

Decimal odds are your total return per unit staked, including the stake back. Odds of 2.50 return 2.50 for every 1.00 staked, so a profit of 1.50. Their real use is that dividing 1 by the odds gives you the implied probability: 1 divided by 2.50 is 0.40, or 40%. That number is what you compare a prediction against.

Why do the implied probabilities add up to more than 100%?

Because that excess is the bookmaker's margin. Convert all three prices on a 1X2 market and they will typically total something like 105% rather than 100%. Those extra percentage points are the built-in charge, and they are the reason that being right slightly more often than chance is not enough to profit.

Is SoccerVista useful for Kenyan jackpots?

Its breadth means it will have an opinion on almost every match a Kenyan jackpot slate throws up, including the obscure ones. That is convenient and it is also the trap, because those obscure fixtures are exactly where the underlying data is thinnest and the prediction is closest to a guess presented in the same format as a confident one.
